About Me

My name is Kirsten Hernandez and I am the Owner of GROW. I was born and raised in the South Bronx and currently reside in the Capital District (Albany, NY). I graduated from Siena College with a B.A. in English Studies (2011) and obtained my Non Profit Management Certificate from Baruch College (2018). I have more than a decade of experience writing grants, working with nonprofits and managing projects and people. I currently serve as the Vice President for the Upstate NY Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association, Secretary for the Albany Fund for Education (AFE), and a board member for TruHeart Inc. Since starting my career in development, I have managed a $23M funding portfolio that includes directly raising $6M and leading development teams to raise $17M. I am proud to say that since 2019, $1.5M has been raised exclusively through GROW.
